| At our annual meeting held at the Stuyvesant Falls Fire Station on Tuesday November 16th, 2010, the association presented awards for "Heroism", to 4 City of Hudson Police Officers. These officers went above and beyond their call of duty August 21, 2010. The fire was at a multi story dwelling at 518 Columbia Street. Upon arriving and requesting the Hudson Fire Department to be dispatched; they entered the building to alert and assist the occupants. Rushing upstairs, 3 officers, one with a fire extinguisher, they quickly broke through the upstairs door and alerted the sleeping occupants and assisted them out while also trying to combat the flames as the 4th officer rushed in and awakened the sleeping residents on the first floor. Their combined actions were responsible for saving the lives of a mother and son sleeping on the second floor and the other occupants of the dwelling. As such the Chiefs' Association felt that their actions on that day warranted being recognized. Hudson Police Chief Ellis Richardson was in attendance as well as several other Hudson Police Officers and friends and family of the Officer's receiving the plaques. Officers recognized where: Mishanda Franklin Christopher Filli Jason Finn Brent Rowe |
